Lieutenant Maor Refael Shalom, 47, from Arugot, a naval commando fighter, fell in combat against terrorists on October 7, 2023, in the Gaza envelope. Maor is survived by his wife, Hila, and three children. At Maor’s funeral, a eulogy he wrote was read, in which he asked not to be mourned: “If you’ve come to this point, don’t be sad, smile instead.” May he rest in peace.
