Lieutenant Dekel Swissa, son of Moshe and Kayla, was a team leader in the Golani Brigade’s 13th Battalion. He was killed at the age of 23, following a clash with terrorists. Dekel defended his soldiers and killed numerous terrorists. He was an inspirational figure, studied at a military boarding school in Haifa, spent a year of service with the Jewish Agency in Atlanta, and continued at a pre-army preparatory program. Dekel was initially a combat soldier in the Maglan unit and later served as a commander in the Golani Brigade.
