On that fateful Saturday morning, as the war broke out, Sergeant Yvgeny Glasky’s life took a tragic turn. Yvgeny, a passionate mountain biker, had planned a training ride that day, in preparation for an upcoming race. Instead, he found himself in a firefight against terrorists in Sderot, where he tragically lost his life.
“My riding partner, Yvgeny, was murdered,” mourned his friend and fellow cyclist, Maxim Sardikov. “Just two days earlier, we managed to enjoy our last ride together, sharing our final jokes – the kind that only close friends who’ve shared hardships can truly understand.”
That Saturday was supposed to be their last ride before a race in the Be’eri singletrack. But as Maxim waited in the parking area in Be’eri and missiles started flying overhead, he realized their ride wouldn’t happen. Yvgeny is survived by his mother, sister, and spouse.

To the family and loved ones of Sergeant Yvgeny Glasky,
We are so, so sorry for your loss of this heroic man. His spouse should have so many more years ahead with him, and instead has a whole life ahead without him. The injustice is so sharp.
He sounds like a person who loved the world in many ways including through his riding. May every corner of the world that he ever rode through always retain the traces of his presence. Wishing you comfort at this tragic time.
