Yochai Ben Zecharya

His father eulogized: “He was a rare human being who always loved to help everyone from a young age. At age 12, he sat with a blind man who couldn’t find his way, called for help, and waited for me to come. He also loved animals dearly. Every injured animal came to the family home, and I turned into a doctor. He adopted a dog for a year and pampered her to the extent that she drank water with ice. I have a flower stand that Yochai worked in. When he was discharged from the army, he asked me why I didn’t give flowers to soldiers for free. Since we put up a ‘free flowers for soldiers’ sign, we’ve received much more respect and warm treatment from people. It’s largely thanks to him, he was all heart and everyone will remember his broad heart.’”

When asked what his message to the people of Israel after this terrible tragedy is, Yochai’s father answered: “We’re not ready for this to continue and want it to end, no matter how. Now it’s my son, tomorrow someone else’s. No father, mother, brother, or any person should experience such pain.”
