Yakir Yedidya Shenkolevsky

His mother Tova eulogized: “My precious beloved, as we always said, ‘my precious beloved’ means you were two times the gift, a gift we were privileged to have for 21 years. How much we learned from you. A special child with inner strength, even during challenging times. Went to yeshiva and then the army, you grew and developed so much. You had depth and sensitivity. Last Wednesday, we were privileged to see you and you looked so good and I was relieved and happy. And when you left again I was calm and then came the knock on the door that tore everything apart. You believed in what we also believe, how we raised our children: that we have the right to be here in this land, even if it means fighting for it. May we learn to fight for the important things together and not let disagreements separate us.”
