Yael Leiboshor

Lt. Yael Leiboshor from the Border Defense Force fell on October 7, 2023, in the battle at the Nahal Oz outpost. Lt. Leiboshor, from Moshav Gia, served as a land collection officer in Battalion 414 of the Border Defense Forces. She was 20 years old. “Heartbreaking. Today we learned that Yael was murdered on Shabbat while performing her duty as a lookout. Yael came to us two years ago with a smile on her face, one that always stays and never fades, bringing along positive energy that is contagious to everyone around her. She loved the desert, the crater, and everything related to it—especially the people. Yael was someone you could always rely on, always ready for any task and in good spirits. She knew how to improvise when necessary and wasn’t afraid to stand in front of dozens of people with just a laser pointer in her hand. I am happy and grateful to have had the privilege of knowing Yael, even if only for a few months. We are sad and in pain, our hearts are with the family.”
