Staff Sgt. Itay Saadon

Sergeant Major Itay Saadon, age 21 from Tel Aviv, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip. He was a tank commander in Battalion 52 of the 401st Armored Brigade. Itay was due for his release vacation on October 7th and had planned to fly to Berlin with friends for a post-army trip. He had already purchased his flight tickets, but that fateful Saturday changed his plans, and he remained with the military.

His mother mourned, “I was blessed to be his mother. He was an incredible child. His biggest dream was to be a pilot. He was supposed to be discharged on November 15th and had plans to go to Canada to learn how to fly. He had been busy trying to fulfill this dream since he was five. I can’t stop thinking that he is up in the skies. From the age of five, he had a dream, and he did not manage to realize it…”
