Sergeant Yaron Uri Shay, 21 years old, from Kadima-Zoran, was a fighter in the Nahal Brigade’s Reconnaissance unit. He was the son of the former minister, Yizhar Shay, who previously served as the Minister of Science and Technology and currently serves as the chairman of the Derechenu movement. His father eulogized him: “Our Noni, our hero. Fell in the battle for defending the country. We were blessed with you for 21 years. Our angel in the sky. Rest in peace, our beloved.” Yaron’s brother, Ophir, also wrote:
“My little brother, the prince, give us strength and watch over us from above.”
