Staff Sergeant Roni Eshel, from Tzur Yitzhak, a lookout in Battalion 414 of the Border Defense Corps, was killed by terrorists at the age of 19. Roni left behind parents, Sharon and Eyal, and two siblings, Yael and Alon.
Her aunt, Idit, spoke about her: “Roni served at the Nahal Oz base for a year and two months. She was a lookout in an excellent team of outstanding girls. She loved her service very much, flourished in the army, and was a very good soldier. She had plans for after the service. She wanted to travel, to seize life. A 19-year-old girl, she had not yet started her life.”
