Roi was born in May 1973, just before the Yom Kippur War. He grew up in a utopian and optimistic world, surrounded by endless fields in a promising country that ultimately let him down. People say you don’t choose your family; Munder chose two from his childhood: the Maccabi Netanya family and the Liverpool family (which lately has been behaving like a dysfunctional mother). This choice accompanied him throughout his life, which was cut short by wicked murderers. Known as ‘Munder’ among Netanya and Liverpool fans, Roi was a beacon of knowledge and wisdom. This made him well-known, meaningful, and especially beloved.
Munder, we never thought how relevant that sweeping fan song would be: ‘In the hardest moments we will never leave, I swear in good and bad until death in yellow, because I only want Netanya, I always sing just for you, I give my life for you.’
Roi was murdered; his parents, sister, and his 9-year-old nephew Ohad were kidnapped to Gaza. The closest people to Roi didn’t participate in the funeral and shiva because they are kidnapped. Where have you heard such a thing?? In what sane world can a person with a family not give him a last honor because they are kidnapped?
