Rani Tahan struggled with PTSD following Operation Protective Edge and was exempted from reserve duty. When the war broke out, he volunteered to help protect the country and was killed by an anti-tank missile in northern Gaza. Before his death he wrote, “The war needs to be fought even if it means me or my friends get hurt.” His friends said, “He was one of the strongest people physically and mentally.”

Dear Tahan family,
Please accept my condolences on your terrible loss of Rani. Although I never had the good fortune to meet Rani, this post gives me a glimpse of his courage and his dedication to Am Yisroel. He is a hero to me. May God avenge his blood and comfort you among the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim.
