The third of four siblings, Ortal grew up in Jerusalem. She was killed alongside her boyfriend, Daniel Ohana, after trying to escape from the massacre at the Nova music festival, which she was also attending with her sister (who was injured but survived). Ortal and Daniel’s bodies were found in an embrace, and were buried side by side.
