Master Sgt. (res.) Sergey Shmerkin

“Sergey was an incredible person, a man with a huge heart,” reminisced his good friend, Osher Peretz. “Born in Ukraine, he immigrated to Israel with his parents at the age of 9. We met about 8 years ago, and since then, we’ve been family in every sense. He was a guest at our home every holiday and every Friday night. He was part of the family, like a big brother always there whenever I needed him. He was there not just for me but stood up for anyone in need, just as he was the first to volunteer and enlist for reserve duty. Working as a real estate agent, Sergey planned to propose to his girlfriend May after the war,” he shared.
