Ilay Azar

He was eulogized: “How time flies when you’re having fun. I feel like screaming from physical pain, real pain like that from a severed limb… You were one of a kind, a good and beloved man, talented, the best version of yourself both in life and in the way it ended. Slowly, the stories of your last moments are coming in… a musician, a surfer, a man of spirit and freedom, a party person, living life at a high pace… You chose, in the end, to be the greatest and bravest man you could be, and I admire you for that. I am so sad about all the things we didn’t get to do. I’m grateful every day for every minute and hour that you were with me, with us. Instead of a ticket to the East, instead of celebrating your wedding, we meet at your grave. I will continue to live in your spirit. Always.”
