Killed in action on October 7, 2023, Staff Sergeant Emil Smoylov, from Haifa, was a facility security officer in the Gaza Division. He was 22 years old at the time of his death. Emil was a lone soldier who immigrated to Israel to enlist in the army. He was killed in combat against Hamas militants in the south. His mother lives in Moscow.
