Chief Sgt. Omri Balkin


Chief Sergeant (res.) Omri Balkin was the son of Roni Balkin, a reserve lieutenant colonel and a city council member. He was the grandson of the late Pesach Balkin, a council leader. Omri was set to begin law studies at the start of the academic year. A statement from the Labor Party’s Ramat Hasharon branch said: “Omri was a man of the land, an educator, a sea scout team leader in Netanya, and beloved by all his friends and proteges.” He was a fighter in an elite unit and fell defending the southern part of the country and the residents of the Gaza border area.
