Among Itay Pery’s belongings was a drawing that moved the entire country. Pery had a drawing, a colorful heart drawn by his 6-year-old son Ido. He wrote to his family that he carried the drawing in his uniform pocket.
“Ido wrote in his handwriting: I love you, I miss you, Dad, I hope you won’t get hurt,” said his widow, Hila.
