Amichai Rubin fought on the Gaza border on Saturday and took a bullet to the head. He saved many soldiers and stormed the terrorists until his last breath. His organs were donated to five different people, saving lives. Lieutenant Rubin left behind parents and seven siblings. His family wrote: “Amichai Rubin, fallen at the age of 23, is the third child of Yishai and Batya Rubin, founders of the Ometz community in Acre. From a young age, he was involved in action and giving, humble and modest, a much-loved brother and friend.”

I never had the opportunity to meet Amichai but from your description it is obvious that his modest and steadfast personality drew others to him. His courage inspires me, even as an American Jew far away, to stand firm in defense of Am Yisrael. May God avenge Amichai’s blood and comfort you among the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim.
